Synopsis

Ian Power’s The Runway is a delightful drama-comedy set in Mallow, County Cork in Ireland in 1983 based on true events. The picture centers on nine-year old Avenida (Paco), mother-raised and very self-willed. Everything seems to change in Paco’s life when he meets:.… ernesto, a Colombian aviator who has to force land his plane in an Irish area. Language was obviously a problem, but somehow, Paco got along with Ernesto. Eventually, he talks the stubborn villagers into assisting him and building a runway in order to fix the plane and fly back home. The drama fights to move the emotional needle on all of the viewers by wrapper in humor and sweetness and successfully touches community, looking for a source of optimism and forging potentially disparate groups into an unexpected narrative.
