Synopsis:
This well researched documentary depicts the journey of a boy who had a passion for music and grew to become a pop legend. He had issues regarding addiction and drug use, however, he eventually learned to love himself. There are clips showing Elvis perform, his diaries including secretive family moments, and the last final hours of his last concert, which was during the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour at Dodger Stadium.
Critical Reception:
Critics have received this film very well and hailed that this film is a true representation of Elton John and his music as it does not hide his addictions and rough childhood. The Times insists it captures “a moving portrait of both his music and his reinvention as a devoted family man.” This shows how unlikeable he was and how he had to change all for family.
Personal Insights:
Elton John useful reveals a lot about what was going through his life during the late 1980s and early 1990s and that is also when he had his manager John Reid with him. It also captures Eli on how his family were always on his mind and how family will always be the most important factor in love.
