Three Stooges Comedy Collection

Synopsis

The Stooges feature in a series of short films daredevil antics filled with funny dialogues and absurd situations. The films do not follow any chronological order, and thus the viewers join them in plumbing, or going to court, switching jobs and other crazy businesses that .thumb their noses at the prevailing socio-political ideologies.

The comically tortured everday people, the Stooges, are caught in myriad of ridiculous situations and, not knowing how else to get out of them, solve the problem in the most comical and unfortunate ways. As the three actors accentuated the characters, they created their comic tales; Moe was the bossy one while Larry and Curly was the naive and perplexed ones respectively.

Personal Insights

The Three Stooges Comedy Collection serves as instruction in physical comedy and timing. Although their humor is classic, its core essence has a piercing criticism of the society and the government’s follies. Sure, some gags seem a touch archaic, but the appeal of their slapstick and being progenitors for many modern comedians such as Jim Carrey or the Jackass team are hard to argue against.

Cultural Significance

Owing to their creativity and unorthodox approach to comedy, The Three Stooges laid the foundation for the evolution of slapstick comedy. They are not simply raging lunatics in hilarious films that were made in the early half of the twentieth century, they are the rage! They managed to retain a considerable amount of attention during the Great Depression and World War II, inserting humor in dire times with their work.
