Synopsis
In Good Neighbours, Tamesha and Luke Ellery, a couple that has been married, invite their new neighbors Mary and Joseph that they find mysterious and charming for dinner. With a hope to form a friendly neighborhood, they The Ellerys, soon have to reckon with the fact that the evening is degenerating into, well, something very dark and more dangerously violent. What starts off as a normal dinner invite escalates quickly into a warped game as this couple’s survival instincts come under dire stress turning into an epic battle to fight off their psychotic hosts.
The setting of being inside their house becomes more intense, and almost unendurable, for the pointing out of a slow corrosion of trust, the exposure of secrets, and the emergence of paranoia as the dominant force, simply adds to the intensity of the film. The film creates some sickening atmosphere alongside the horrid subsequent developments showing how such good neighbors were poised to reveal the truths of their nefarious glee.

Dani Thompson as Mary is particularly frightening because her performance is just the right mix of vicious and pleasant. This film focuses on the notions of trust, hospitality, and the masks that people wear and in a way critiques how much we know about those around us.
The writer has done well to sadistically expose the aims of each character one by one, which succeeds in making the audience disorientated in terms of flagging who is the right person to cheer for until the unbelievable end.
