Synopsis
“Between Us” (original title: Entre Nous) is a French drama about love, relationships and having a family and goes deep into the concepts revolving around these three aspects of life. Focusing on Élodie and Lætitia, a lesbian couple who are in a civil partnership and who wish to expand their family through assisted reproduction. Thus, their plans change when Élodie receives the diagnosis of a sickness that does not allow her to become pregnant. Not only did this change their expectations, but also restricted their finances.
To throw all their expectations into the sea and gain a safer financial standpoint, they try to adopt male roommate Simon. There are ethical implications with such an act but it serves as starting step into cheap adopting, the couple never realized that such good intentions could ruin their relationships. As time passed such devious actions did provoke more than did good, they inflicted harm physically, mentally and even at their faith and trust with one another. At the end of the day unexpected changes are true strength testers regardless of the relationship being strong or weak.
