They Wait (2007) is a Canadian horror mystery directed by Ernie Barbarash and features Jaime King and Terry Chen in lead roles. The storyline centers on Sarah (King) and her spouse, Jason (Chen), who fly back from Shanghai to Vancouver to attend the funeral of Jason’s uncle. While with Jason’s aunt Mei, their son Sammy (Regan Oey) begins suffering from night terrors, this doesn’t last long as their son soon gets sicker. This is the month when Chinese ghosts are believed to haunt living relatives, looking for food offerings. Sarah contacts her Chinese chemist who lets her know that a lingering dead body is provoking Sammy. The family is required to learn the purpose of the spirits before the end of Ghost Month; otherwise, they may never see their son again.
