Synopsis

The number of entries for the New Era Family reunion has steadily increased each year, according to the film. Damon Matthew, played by Moe Dunford, is seen in the movie as a soldier with a single goal: to look for his wife, Alexis (Charlotte Vega), by any means necessary. The fresh outpost of the clandestine organization, Damon thinks to himself, has no choice but to be constructed after the new site was previously overrun by a sex trafficking network. However, what he discovers is far from the mundane such promises – it is a techno-futuristic amusement park where simulation and real alternate with each other. In his involuntary odyssey across this strange world, Damon faces with a number of side challenges that confuse him in his easily anticipated task of finding out what happened to his wife.

The film “Utopia” is quite intriguing as it touches on the themes of perception reality and love but love at what cost. The film is situated in the context of a futuristic fantasy park the purpose being it transcends into a reality check for the viewers against the artificial worlds that we use to shield ourselves. The casting is done pretty well especially Moe Dunford, who is convincing as a soldier set on a mission, as well as Charlotte Vega, who plays Alexis and adds to the story’s emotional depth. The immersion directed by James Bamford is indeed captivating however some reviewers say that the film’s pacing could be improved by better cutting.
