“The Girl Who Wasn’t Dead” is an American film released new in 2024 which is directed by Simone Stock. The story focuses on 15-year-old Erica Bennett who goes missing and the police believes that she has been slayed by a serial killer operating in the area. Now three years and a couple of months on, Erica shows up at her trial, the very court where she had been declared dead, to reveal that she had run away and was living not more than a mile from her mother’s house with her 21-year-old boyfriend Andrew Jensen.

- **I have come across a few Lifetime movies that I did not like but this one surely takes the cake. It is simply awful with the teenage daughter being utterly despicable. Other Lifetime movies are just bad in the more general sense of having stupid, self-centred, and one dimensional characters, the same conflict resolution, weak male characters and loathsome main characters. With excessive sipping of wine and having houses which are far above their means in professions beyond imagination. But this one? It’s bad in dangerously wicked ways. The amount of ridicule that the daughter made the mother and brother endure is outrageous. And to even show at the conclusion of this pathetic excuse of a film a main character claiming “I’m sorry” and “I only wanted to be happy” to vindicate her actions is unacceptable. To put her family through the psychological and emotional suffering that people endure when they lose a family member to the crime is just not right. That girl needed to serve prison punishment or a least community service for these acts. The mother should not have to repay the community for wasting their time and efforts, the daughter should pay all of it. Oh but she had to be “happy” and her family ought to understand that.
The combination of the writers, producers, directors, etc.O siii, these shameless people. I only continued watching to see if the filmmakers would at least in the end regain some composure. They failed to do so. It would be great if IMDB had a feature that at least enabled users to give low or zero stars to the media content they disapprove of. This picture has no stars. It is not often that I find a movie as unpleasing as this one.
